SUMMARY:SNSB and JFF Christmas Spectacular
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for our exciting joint Christmas Concert with the South Norfolk Symphonic Band (SNSB) and the Just For Fun (JFF) Big Band. \nSNSB (formerly SNYSB) was founded in 1974 by Mike Booty and in 2025 celebrated its 50th year. Originally started as a Youth Band\, its members ages now range from 8 to 75 years. SNSBs high quality concerts\, both at home and aboard\, have raised many thousands of pounds for Charities. \nThe JFF Big Band was formed in 2023 and comprises seasoned musicians from Suffolk and Norfolk who enjoy and wish to continue performing in the Big Band tradition. \nHeld at the historic Eye Town Hall dating from 1857\, this impressive Grade II listed building is recognised for its imaginative design and provides the ideal venue for this festive event. \nThe concert will include a mixture of traditional Christmas classics and popular numbers performed by both bands – culminating in a Massed Bands Finale with a truly impressive sound. \nDoors open at 18:30.

SUMMARY:50th Concert
DESCRIPTION:Join us on the 28th September to celebrate half a century of music with a powerful performance by band members past and present. \nEstablished in 1974 by Mike Booty\, South Norfolk Symphonic Band is a mixed-ability band of over 40 members. The band has raised well over £1 million for various charities through regular concerts and international tours\, including Germany\, the Far East\, Singapore\, Borneo and Thailand. Most recently\, in 2019\, South Norfolk Symphonic Band paid its third visit to Malaysia. Visiting Seremban\, Kuala Lumpur and Kuching\, the band took part in numerous musical workshops with local schools\, as well as charity concerts\, including a performance in a 5\,000 seat concert hall to raise funds for the Salvation Army\, with guests of honour including Malaysian State Officials. \nThroughout the band’s rich musical history\, they have performed twice for HRH Princess Anne\, once in the Royal Albert Hall\, as well as winning third prize in an International Music Festival in Valkenburg\, Holland during one of their European tours. In 2006\, South Norfolk Symphonic Band were presented with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. \nFor one night only – don’t miss this unforgettable musical reunion!

SUMMARY:SNSB Open Rehearsal and Free Concert
DESCRIPTION:On the 27th of April\, SNSB will be holding an open daytime rehearsal\, 9:30-13:30. We will be welcoming any players\, whether member or not\, of all abilities – everyone is welcome! The rehearsal will be to work on a few pieces which we will then perform for anyone who would like to watch\, in a free to attend afternoon concert\, beginning at 14:30. On the day we will be providing a lunch in the break\, and plenty of snacks and refreshments throughout the rehearsal. Should you not have access to your own instrument\, but still want to come along\, please get in contact with us\, as we have a limited number of instruments which we will be able to let people borrow for the day at no extra cost.
